Shortages Spread at Totals French Filling station on Blockades

Total SA stated fuel shortages spread to virtually a 3rd of its French gasoline station after vehicle drivers rushed to fill their tanks amidst strikes and blockades over labor-law modifications.


Some 678 gasoline station faced lacks or lacked any fuel late Monday, up from 612 in the morning and 336 a day earlier, Total said in a statement. 2 out of 9 of the company’s fuel depots remained blockaded and production at all of its five French refineries was affected by the strike, the company stated.


More than 600 trucks have been filling up fuel to supply pumps, a boost from about 350 generally, said Total. Those deliveries will allow more than 1 million motorists to fill up their tanks, it stated buy a house in france.

Makers of Gauloises cigs fight France on plain packages

The tobacco company that owns famous French cigarette brands Gaulloises and Gitanes is fighting a French law that enforces plain product packaging.


Seita, the French subsidiary of Britain's Imperial Tobacco and the maker of the renowned Gauloises and Gitanes cigarettes, said on Tuesday it would appeal to France's leading court against policies enforcing plain packaging. The attract the Council of State, France's top administrative court, won't suspend the regulation from entering force on January 1.


"Our rights to use our brands, numerous of which were created more than 100 years earlier in France, should be respected," Seita's director for worldwide corporate affiars Axel Gietz said in a statement.
